THE ULTIMATE OFF-ROAD WEAPON
TRACTION MACHINE
Just like the CRF450R, the CRF450RX has a frame and steering geometry developed directly from HRC’s race bikes and features new off-road specific suspension settings so you can go in harder and come out faster. The engine also features new ECU mapping for even smoother torque delivery, controlled by hydraulic clutch. The 3-Level HRC Launch Control gives you options out of the gate whatever your riding ability or experience, and whatever conditions you’re riding in. And once you’ve bossed the start, 3-Level Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) keeps you driving forward.
THE TOOL OF CHOICE
Start with the best there is. Then make it better.
With the CRF450R MX machine as a base, the CRF450RX already has an advantage and along with its enduro-specific equipment – larger fuel tank, 18-inch rear wheel and sidestand – its twin-spar aluminium frame saves weight and features a factory-rider rigidity balance with super-sharp steering, huge ground clearance and RX-specific suspension settings. The seat unit’s small (and lower at the back) and plastics slim and lightweight. Delivering strong mid-range power, the engine uses new ECU settings for even smoother throttle response and precise delivery. The decompression system minimises stalling and hydraulic clutch is built tough, with light lever load. HRC Launch Control owns the first 100 metres and HSTC manages rear wheel traction.
MAKE BIG GAINS
More speed to cut time. What else matters?
Go in harder. Come out faster. Do it over.
The CRF450RX begins life in the same place as the 2022 CRF450R – so it’s heavily based on Tim Gajser’s championship-winning HRC machine. Not a bad place to start. Devour any terrain, at speed. That’s what the CRF450RX is designed for. And it’s a competition-ready machine that defines the control of power. To keep you pushing forward the Showa 49mm USD coil spring fork now features firmer compression damping while the Showa shock – with its super-lightweight steel spring – is also more firmly damped, for perfect balance front and rear. The lightweight twin-spar aluminium frame, swingarm, top and bottom yoke and axle clamps feature factory-rider spec. rigidity balance, with razor-sharp steering geometry and impressive ground clearance.
Smooth engine power you can use.
There’s an even stronger, smoother low-rpm torque feel thanks to new mapping for the PGM-FI and the same amazing power from 4-5,000rpm upwards. A steep injector angle sprays fuel all the way back to the butterfly, for optimum throttle feel and precise delivery. Practicalities matter, too; the large-capacity airbox offers tool-free access to the filter for fast and easy maintenance. When things get hot the hydraulic clutch is built to handle the stress, give a light lever action and deliver consistent lever clearance. The de-compression system automatically manages the engine at low rpm, for stable operation with increased stall-resistance. HRC Launch Control bosses the jump out of the gate while Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) offers 3 modes of power management for ultimate rear wheel traction and drive. And, putting control directly at your fingertips, the Engine Mode Select Button (EMSB) tailors output to conditions.
